Looking deep into the abyss

Look deep into the abyss and you will see yourself staring back
Wave, smile, you are your best friend in the world
Gaze further still, through yourself
And you will come to a door
It has many names
Hope, happiness, nirvana, heaven
They are all false
Some say it is called death
But it is much further then that
Your gaze passed death long before you saw yourself
It is a door only in your hopes
An entrance in your dreams
An exit in your nightmares
You choose to call it a door
But it does not fit your definition
It cannot be opened
It does not lead to anywhere
It is both a last resort and an obvious choice
Though ‘choice’ is a misleading term
It is inevitable
You cannot delay it
Only bring it closer
It is the end
Once you have seen it
You have become it
